Bollywood comes to Sparsholt Primary School
Class 5 welcomed Senjuti Das from Wise Moves who spent the day teaching the children how to dance Bollywood style! On the evening of the same day the children staged an evening of dance and music from around the world with 2 other schools in front of their friends and family.
Redesigning the Eiffel Tower
The children created their own Eiffel Towers using paper straws and selotape. They then tested the structures to see who had created the strongest by turning on the fans! The winning team - Reuben, Joseph and Joe - well done to them and a great job to all the class for creating some fantastic alternatives to the real thing.
Mrs Davies' trip to Uganda
Last term Mrs Davies spent 2 weeks in Uganda working with the hard working teachers at Wobulenzi Town Academy . The academy provides education and sanctuary for children who are fleeing the fighting in the north of Uganda. Many of them have been orphaned by war and AIDS.
Our pupils donated pencils, rubbers, pencil sharpeners, crayons, pens, paints, paintbrushes, paper, art materials, and books, balls, pumps, skipping ropes, Frisbees, and other sports equipment. The children also raised money towards a new toilet block by wearing something red, yellow and black (the colours of the Ugandan flag) to school and bringing in £1.00 for the privilege!
