A Message from our Chair of Governors

On behalf of all the Governors, welcome to Sparsholt Church of England Primary School.

Sparsholt School is a special place and we are justifiably proud of the children in our school.  Our children's behavour is exemplary, our standards are high and as a result, our children's achievement across the curriculum is impressive.
We are fortunate to have such skilled and passionate teachers in each of our classrooms, led by our experienced and valued Headteacher

Our governing body is a collective of 12 volunteers who work hard to support our school and are commmitted to representing the interests of the children and parents. Governors are appointed based on the skills they can offer to the full governing body and we come from education, marketing, human resources, ecology, finance, legal and healthcare professions.  We are a mix between foundation governors, community (co-opted) governors, with over half the committee, parent governors who are structured across 2 key committees; i) finance & staffing and ii) curriculum.  Governors take an active role in the school, not only attending meetings, but also school functions, undertaking visits to classrooms and helping out with school visits.

As Governors, we aim to encourage and support the Headteacher and all school personnel so that children have access to an enriched education and the opportunities they deserve.  We are united in our joint commitment to provide a strategic direction for Sparsholt through the School Improvement Plan, to support & challenge our standards so that every child leaves Sparsholt ready to excel in secondary school.  We don't get involved in the day to day operation of the school.

More information on who our Governors are can be found on this page but please do find us in the playground or contact me directly.
