What options are available for school lunch?

two course hot school lunch is currently £12.50 per week, or £2.50 per day. During the summer term the school may also offer a packed "picnic" lunch alternative for the same price; during the autumn and spring terms jacket potatoes with a variety of filling may also be available.

Lunch money must be paid half-termly in advance. Payment should be made as soon as possible at the start of the term or half-term either by cash, cheque (payable to 'Sparsholt CE Primary School') or online. Cash payments should be handed to the school office in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the child’s name and amount enclosed.

If your child needs extra school dinners than originally envisaged, you can always top up your meal payments online and if your child needs fewer meals, credit will be carried over to the following week/weeks.

If you prefer your child to have a packed lunch from home, please send it in a suitable lunch box, clearly marked with the child’s name. Drinks should be brought in unbreakable plastic bottles - no fizzy drinks please. Parents are encouraged to pack a healthy meal for their child's packed lunch with no sweets.

***Some of our staff and pupils have food allergies and for this reason we would request you not to send into school any food or snacks containing nuts or nut derivatives.***

Your child may be entitled to a free school meal if you are on Income Support or some other benefits. Please enquire at the school office.

Universal Free School Meals are available to all Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children. We would encourage all eligible children to take up this offer; however you can opt in and out depending on the choice of menu and provide a home-prepared alternative for your child if you so wish.
